You may recall in November the Philippines were ravaged by Typhoon Haiyan.

Typhoon Haiyan was the strongest storm ever recorded at landfall. It is unofficially the strongest typhoon ever recorded based on sustained wind
speeds of 195 miles per hour. It was the equivalent of a Category 6 hurricane in the United States.

The word "typhoon" can be interchanged with hurricane or tropical cyclone. Different words are utilized in different parts of the world, but they are
describing the same type of storm.

The storm displaced 4 million with over 14 million people affected.

90% of structures in most areas were destroyed. There were storm surges in many areas between 13 and 19 feet high.

The ongoing struggle to survive is palpable for many. The storm surges reduced cities to rubble and left many without food, water or shelter.

For those with food allergies, the situation is especially dire. The country is struggling to recover from Typhoon Haiyan and a recent round of storms
has caused more flooding.

Montero Medical Missions, Dr. Lucy Gibney (Lucy's Cookies) and Peanut Free Planet are partnering to send food allergy appropriate relief to the
Philippines for this relief effort. The food allergy goods donations accepted through January 26th will ship to the Philippines shortly thereafter to the
Philippines Secretary of Health, Dr. Enrique Ona, to be directed to where they are needed most in the island nation.
Arrangements have been made
to send the food allergy aid with medical supplies.
